I’m forgetful

For the first time in the 3 years I have worked at this job, I walked out of there leaving my cell phone right on my desk.  I didn’t realize until I got home and by then it was almost 6 and I did not feel like going back to work to get it.  I don’t have a landline at home so I feel so disconnected for the first time in years I’m using my AIM.  Anyone else using AIM and feel like chatting? Send me your screenname and we’ll chat maybe then I’ll feel more connected to the outside world.

Before I get into to today’s eats let me just direct you to Meghann’s fabulous blogger bake sale.  Seriously I’m drooling over all the goodies!  My Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is up for auction so please go over there and check it out.  She’s raising money for such a good cause,  so not only are you getting an amazing baked good from anyone of the fantastic bloggers but you’re also making a difference!

Onto the eats!

It was so dreary this morning and I was having really weird dreams so getting out of bed was hard this morning, not to mention I thought the alarm on my cell phone was text messages and I kept trying to read them even though there was nothing to read.  Can you tell I need to get into bed earlier?  Tonight I’m in bed by 9:30 not a minute later!  So for breakfast I grabbed a clif bar because I thought I had yogurt left so I didn’t get anything ready and didn’t feel like preparing oats.

Usually these do a great job of holding me over till lunch, but today my tummy was rumbling.  I had some leftover spaghetti squash from last night.  Here’s a crappy picture of it:

Leftover spaghetti squash is not very photogenic.

I also had an apple a little later but completely forgot to take a picture so here’s a photo from last week.

Once I came home and emptied my purse looking for my cell phone, trying to contact my boss to see if I still had 24 hour access to the building in case I wanted to go back and get it, it wasn’t until 7:00 that I started to think about eating.  I went with a quick and delicious dinner.  Grilled cheese and yam fries.

I had no cheese in the house except string cheese so that’s 1 part skim polly-o string cheese in the sandwich.

Those fries are from one half of the garnet yam I ate last week, I can’t believe how many fries I got out of just one 1/2.

Well I have a lot of blog reading and commenting to do, I feel so behind with my google reader this weekend I have a feeling it’s going to be awhile before I completely catch up, so if I haven’t commented you in a couple days I will be soon!

That dinner looks completely perfect to me right about now. The ultimate in comfort food! Mmmm.

I’m not even a crazy cell phone user/texter but I would still go nuts if I didn’t have it available to me. I can’t imagine having to go a whole night without it without having a landline for backup. Gotta love instant messaging to bring some social back into your life though haha.

sorry about your phone! i’ve left my phone at home a few times in the past and felt so disorientated the whole day while out, kind of panicky actually, in case of emergencies!

great looking grilled cheese – the string cheese seems to work really well.

That grilled cheese is textbook grilled cheese – perfect crispiness, meltiness, everything! Sorry about the phone 😦 At least you didn’t loose it completely!

The whole cellphone phenomena is so weird in a way, I don’t even remember what I did before cell phones. Then again, they’ve been around pretty much my whole life… people often start talking about this I notice – saying that they don’t know how they booked meetings with friends before, or how they let their friend know if they were running late – How was it possible, without a cell phone to text or call them? Haha. Well, I guess before you just didn’t run late. You made sure to be on time! Hope your phone was safe and sound the next day!

I never would have thought to put string cheese on a sandwich. Hoep you got your phone back! We don’t have a landline either, and my husband has no cell phone, so I totally know that cut off feeling.

I don’t have a landline either and although I rarely use my cell these days, I’d feel completely lost without it! At least you have internet 🙂

I’ve forgotten my purse at work a few times in my desk drawer!

I can get into my building, but would have to disarm the alarm, and I am always afraid of setting the alarm off and the cops will come!

I have never seen that flavor of cliff bars before!! I love the mint chocolate chip the best!
