I’m forgetful

For the first time in the 3 years I have worked at this job, I walked out of there leaving my cell phone right on my desk.  I didn’t realize until I got home and by then it was almost 6 and I did not feel like going back to work to get it.  I don’t have a landline at home so I feel so disconnected for the first time in years I’m using my AIM.  Anyone else using AIM and feel like chatting? Send me your screenname and we’ll chat maybe then I’ll feel more connected to the outside world.

Before I get into to today’s eats let me just direct you to Meghann’s fabulous blogger bake sale.  Seriously I’m drooling over all the goodies!  My Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is up for auction so please go over there and check it out.  She’s raising money for such a good cause,  so not only are you getting an amazing baked good from anyone of the fantastic bloggers but you’re also making a difference!

Onto the eats!

It was so dreary this morning and I was having really weird dreams so getting out of bed was hard this morning, not to mention I thought the alarm on my cell phone was text messages and I kept trying to read them even though there was nothing to read.  Can you tell I need to get into bed earlier?  Tonight I’m in bed by 9:30 not a minute later!  So for breakfast I grabbed a clif bar because I thought I had yogurt left so I didn’t get anything ready and didn’t feel like preparing oats.

Usually these do a great job of holding me over till lunch, but today my tummy was rumbling.  I had some leftover spaghetti squash from last night.  Here’s a crappy picture of it:

Leftover spaghetti squash is not very photogenic.

I also had an apple a little later but completely forgot to take a picture so here’s a photo from last week.

Once I came home and emptied my purse looking for my cell phone, trying to contact my boss to see if I still had 24 hour access to the building in case I wanted to go back and get it, it wasn’t until 7:00 that I started to think about eating.  I went with a quick and delicious dinner.  Grilled cheese and yam fries.

I had no cheese in the house except string cheese so that’s 1 part skim polly-o string cheese in the sandwich.

Those fries are from one half of the garnet yam I ate last week, I can’t believe how many fries I got out of just one 1/2.

Well I have a lot of blog reading and commenting to do, I feel so behind with my google reader this weekend I have a feeling it’s going to be awhile before I completely catch up, so if I haven’t commented you in a couple days I will be soon!

Flip Flops

I was finally able to break out the flip flops today after work!  It was close to 70 and completely sunny, my feet felt to happy to be out of my typical winter Uggs!  It’s really late and I’m really tired so I’m just going to get to it.

For breakfast I had a 5% Plain Fage.  So not worth the 9 grams of fat!  Don’t get me wrong it was good but to be honest I didn’t taste the difference between the 0% to the 5% maybe a little creamier but I’m definitely going to stick with 0%.  I had brought a container of my POM juice and mixed that into the yogurt to give it some flavor.

I used about a quarter of the juice in my yogurt and drank the rest mixed with some water.

For lunch I grabbed a can of soup this morning quickly, it was once again Progresso which I bought months before I started eating healthier, the stats are good it’s the lengthy ingredient list that gives me doubts.  I’d much rather have a different brand that’s not full of ingredients I can’t pronounce, but I bought them and I’m not going to let them go to waste, so I grabbed a can of Tomato Rotini, it tasted like chef Boyardee which I never liked even as a kid.

On the side I had the last of my Kashi crackers.

Andrew’s mom invited us over for a Corned Beef and cabbage dinner tonight.  I came home after work and made myself a grilled cheese with 2 pieces of double fiber bread, and a string cheese, and of course I had a pickle on the side.

At Andrew’s parent’s house I enjoyed some unpictured salad and some roasted potato pieces.  It was good but I still haven’t told them about the blog so I didn’t snap any pictures.

After that I went to my parents house to pick up my Girl Scout Cookies!!!  I got 2 boxes of tagalongs and as soon as I got home I had to rip open the box and eat 2!  Those little devils are so good!

Well I’m off to bed!  Hope you all had a good day and don’t forget tomorrow is Thursday!  We’re almost to the weekend!

Internet Outage

So last night as I was starting to write up this post my internet went out. I’m at work right now and I’m hoping that when I get home my internet will be back up and running.  I’m taking my lunch hour today to write, but I don’t think this can be an everyday thing, but I didn’t within the first week, want to get into the habit of slacking.

Breakfast 1-6-08

You’ve got to be sick of this by now, but my breakfast was a Peach Chobani.  I know I’m going to upset a lot of you but everytime I’ve tried oatmeal I haven’t liked it.  To be fair I’ve only had instant and it seems that to a lot of you stovetop oats are the way to go.  Maybe I’ll do an experiment this weekend and see if I like stovetop oats.  I have to say my mouth does water whenever I look at some of your pictures.  I want to love oats because the seem so satisfying to so many of you.  picture-001

A banana, a peach chobani, with pom mixed it.  I only used a little pom from that container in my yogurt and snacked on some more at lunch but there’s still 1/2 that container in the fridge at my office waiting until tomorrow.

Lunch 1-6-08

Was a great meal of leftovers!  I had some more chicken chili (one more portion left!  I’ll definitely be making this again soon since it’s been a great go-to meal for lunch.)

So up until now this was draft from last night it’s taking near forver to get a picture in so I’m going to keep pictures to a minimum.    On the side I had 1/2 a green pepper and a clemintine.  I’m not uploading that picture.

Dinner 1-6-08

I ate cooking for just me (althought Meghan is making it look so worth it!)  So last night I had a grilled cheese sandwich with part skim mozz cheese and 2 pieces of  Boars Head Buffalo Chicken Breast.   Yum!  For dipping I used more of the hot spaghetti sauce from Sundays dinner.  And a side salad.  Again here’s a picture of all of it together.picture-0121

Full disclosure: I burned one side of the sandwich:

Breakfast 1/7/08

Vanilla Chobani another overly ripe banana, pb puffins, and pom seeds.  This actually held me over for 4 hours!  Powerful stuff!

And lastly today’s lunch, a pb and raspberry preserves sandwich on an arnolds 100% ww sandwich thin (amazing as everyone else has already said! ) 2 clemintines and a salad.

I’m really sorry this post (and pics) has been so awful, I’m hoping I’ll be able to fix it from home tonight if the internet is working!  What a frustrating situation.  If I don’t get back on today I’ll be posting at lunch again.   Hope everyone has a great Humpday!
